Environmental Portraits

An environmental portrait should be a moment to your eyes, you will understand what is intended in the photograph because of everything the photo is portraying. Whether it be mood, scene, color, or person. It's different from a natural portrait because it is usually up to the single model to tell the viewer everything that is going on. I intend for my environmental portraits to be more than just well done, but also expressive of the subject. The portraits below were taken all in the close distance of my home, a few towns that sprawl out to create the suburbs of Montreal.

In most photos you'll see Kailey Henneghen, she's an amazing model but also a great partner to photograph with. She'll be making her way up to professional soon as we continue to help each other in shooting.

Studio Portraits

Recently, I've had the chance to step into a studio and see how different it is to take portraits in a controlled environment compared to the outside world. I am quite lucky because where I am attending school they have their own studio in the basement which is where these following photos have been taken. I realized that these portraits rely a lot more on your camera capabilities and techniques because of such limited space.
